Testimonials

Neighborhood Nexus is relatively new on the scene, but we've already created quite a buzz as some of the most  respected organizations in the region understand the importance of data in their day-to-day dealings. And that's one of the strengths of Neighborhood Nexus - we are constantly talking to people and organizations who need good data to make better decisions. Check out what some of these people had to say about the importance of data-driven decision making:

"The City of Atlanta Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) is increasingly aware of the importance of using data to drive smart decisions in an era of shrinking resources. To meet this need, DPCD is searching for an efficient means to not only collect various data sources into one database, but to map the data within the City of Atlanta. DPCD is looking forward to a partnership with Neighborhood Nexus to develop this resource, which should assist DPCD with making informed decisions for the future of the City of Atlanta."

Department of Planning and Community Development

"Through The APN planning grant, MSM partnered with schools and communities to identify the needs and assets critical to developing a plan to prepare children to become educationally successful, starting from birth to college or through their careers. The success of this assessment could result in our getting a rather large implementation grant. Neighborhood Nexus has been a key partner in presenting the needs assessment and asset mapping data through development of a web portal to illustrate the health, education, safety and security status, among many other indicators, within the APN communities and schools.

The expertise MSM provides is collecting and analyzing existing data and gathering primary data, through our preexisting relationships with communities and their residents. For the APN grant, however, we also needed to demonstrate that we had a data platform to house the collected data and that the system would allow us to track what is happening with these communities over time.  This product is what we hope we will find to be a user-friendly resource that includes maps and index scores that both communities and academics can understand and use, without having to navigate a written report.  Neighborhood Nexus has a unique community touch and has represented a local partner that has been readily available and accessible towards development of a product that we are proud of."
