Data for Neighborhoods

You've opened a new window! This is important; we'll tell you why in a little bit. One of the valuable features of Neighborhood Nexus' data is their scalability to a neighborhood level. Nexus uses the "Census Tract" as its base for all data. Census Tracts are census-defined areas designed to be a relatively stable, small-area geography for data reporting purposes. So while it is difficult to report data for distinct neighborhoods, especially because neighborhoods rarely have universally-agreed upon boundaries, you can use one or more Census Tracts as a proxy for your neighborhood.

Below are list of census tracts that approximate neighborhoods within the city of Atlanta, according to Zillow, a real estate listing service. Due to the size of some of these neighborhoods, we combined some of them. See a map (PDF) of these neighborhoods here.

Copy the list of Census Tracts (just triple-click the top one), then go back to the previous window (see, we told you this was important) and, once you have selected your indicator, choose "Census Tract" as your geography, then paste them into the "Filter" box on the Data Center page. Remember, if you right click the "Link to the Report" link, you can copy and paste that link anywhere you like, including your neighborhood Website. (Note: this won't work for CRCT scores since they are reported at the school level.)

If you'd like to see data for your neighborhood, email us with detailed boundaries and tell us why those are the generally-accepted boundaries. We'll add that neighborhood to the list below.
