Land Development

The Atlanta Regional Commission interprets aerial photography to develop a regional classification of land use and land cover. This dataset is from 2009, but given the slowdown in building, this remains a fairly accurate picture of the region. These data answer the following questions:

  • Which areas have the most developable land remaining?
  • Which areas are largely built-out?
  • Is there developable land remaining in the urban core?
