Accommodation/Food Service
establishments that primarily provide customers with lodging and/or preparing meals, snacks, and beverages for immediate consumption

Administrative/Waste Management
performing routine support activities for the day-to-day operations of other organizations, such as: office administration, collection, security and surveillance services, cleaning, and waste disposal services

Agriculture, Fishing /Hunting
engaged in growing crops, raising animals, harvesting timber, and harvesting fish and other animals from a farm, ranch, or their natural habitats

Arts/Entertainment/Rec.
establishments that operate facilities or provide services to meet varied cultural and leisure interests of their patrons

Construction

Density
Value per unit (example: population density is the amount of people per a measure of area )

Finance/Insurance
establishments primarily engaged in fiscal transactions (transactions involving the creation, liquidation, or change in ownership of financial assets) and/or in facilitating fiscal transactions

Health Care & Social Assistance
establishments that provide medical care and/or social assistance

Household
A person or group of people who occupy a housing unit as their usual place of residence. The number of households equals the number of occupied housing units in a census.

Household Size
The amount of individuals (family and non-family) living in one residence

Housing Unit
A single-family house, townhouse, mobile home or trailer, apartment, group of rooms, or single room that is occupied as a separate living quarters or, if vacant, is intended for occupancy as a separate living quarters.

Information
institutions engaged in the production and distribution information and cultural products, providing the means to transmit or distribute data or communications, and processing data.

Management
comprises of establishments that hold the securities of companies and enterprises for the purpose of owning a controlling interest or administer other establishments

Manufacturing (Non-Durable)
the creation of goods that can't be consumed or quickly disposed of in addition to lasting three or more years:  Wood Product Manufacturing (321), Non-Metallic Mineral Product Manufacturing (327),Primary Metal Manufacturing (331), Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing (332), Machinery Manufacturing (333), Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing (334), Electrical Equipment, Appliance and Component Manufacturing (335), Transportation Equipment Manufacturing (336), Furniture and Related Product Manufacturing (337), Miscellaneous Manufacturing (339)

Metropolitan statistical area (MSA)
A geographic entity defined by the federal Office of Management and Budget for use by federal statistical agencies, based on the concept of a core area with a large population nucleus, plus adjacent communities having a high degree of economic and social integration with that core. Qualification of an MSA requires the presence of a city with 50,000 or more inhabitants, or the presence of an Urbanized Area (UA) and a total population of at least 100,000 (75,000 in New England). The county or counties containing the largest city and surrounding densely settled territory are central counties of the MSA. Additional outlying counties qualify to be included in the MSA by meeting certain other criteria of metropolitan character, such as a specified minimum population density or percentage of the population that is urban.

Mining
the extraction of minerals occurring naturally: solids, such as coal and ores; liquids, such as crude petroleum; and gases such as natural gas; also includes quarrying, well operations, milling (e.g., crushing, screening, washing, flotation), and other preparation customarily done at the mine site, or as a part of mining activity

Multi-Family Housing Units
buildings that facilitate residency for multiple households (for example:  apartments, townhomes)

Occupancy Rate
Percentage of all residential units that are inhabited

Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA)
A geographic entity defined by the federal Office of Management and Budget for use by federal statistical agencies. If an area meets the requirements to qualify as a metropolitan statistical area and has a population of one million or more, two or more PMSAs may be defined within it if statistical criteria are met and local opinion is in favor. A PMSA consists of one or more counties (county subdivisions in New England) that have substantial commuting interchange. When two or more PMSAs have been recognized, the larger area of which they are components then is designated a consolidated metropolitan statistical area.

Professional/Technical
Activities performed include but not limited to: legal advice and representation; accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll services; architectural, engineering, and specialized design services; computer services; consulting services; research services; advertising services; photographic services; translation and interpretation services; veterinary services; and other professional, scientific, and technical services

Public Administration
federal, state, and local government agencies that administer, oversee, and manage public programs and have executive, legislative, or judicial authority over other institutions within a given area

Real Estate
engagement in renting, leasing, or otherwise allowing the use of tangible or intangible assets

Residential Address
All types of dwelling

Retail Trade
sale of merchandise to consumers without transformation or rendering

Single Family Units
Stand alone buildings that only serve the purpose as a residences for solitary household

Transportation & Warehousing
providing transportation, storage for goods, scenic and sightseeing transportation, and support activities related to modes of transportation

Utilities
entities that generate and/or distribute electric power, natural gas, or water/sewer  

Wholesale Trade
the sale of merchandise to other businesses without transformation or rendering
